In August, in Ascoli Piceno takes place the Ascolive Festival dedicated to Ascoli stuffed olives, typical snack from Marche region.
At the Ascolive Festival – in 2026 at its 13th edition, the program includes also conferences, meetings and tastings to spread the Ascoli style stuffed olive in the world, also giving space to local producers.
The recipe traces back from a long time ago and is still loyal to tradition. Brined olives are stuffed with a mixture of meat and then fried. Many famous people have really appreciated this food delicacy, from Caton to Petronius, up to Rossini and Garibaldi.
