Tortél Dóls Festival – Colorno
12-13 October 2024 the feast dedicated to the traditional dish of the Province of Parma
On October 13th and 14th. 2024 – as usual on the second weekend of October – the main square of Colorno (Parma) hosts the 16th edition of the Tortél Dóls Festival, a culinary and cultural event organized by Confraternita del Tortél Dóls.
At Tortél Dóls Festival, visitors can taste the typical dish from this town, the Tortél Dóls, a kind of ravioli with a bittersweet stuffing. Food, special guests and more than 100 exhibitors.
The origin of Tortél Dóls goes back to the times of the Empress Marie-Louise of France, Duchess of Parma and Napoleon’s second wife. The Duchess used to offer the boatmen of Sacca di Colorno a plate of tortelli with a bittersweet stuffing, hence the name “Tortél Dóls”, sweet tortello.
The actual recipes, kept by Confraternita del Tortél Dòls, includes the following ingredients: bread crumbs, must and mostarda.
During the festival, founded in 2008, it is possible to taste the real Tortél Dóls, prepared according the original recipes of the Confraternita.
In addition, the participation of great chefs and journalists and several events with artists, cooks and students.
