In April 2025, like every two years, Eliopoli – the Border Land returns inside the Fortress of Terra del Sole in the province of Forlì-Cesena.

Heliopolis – the Border Land (Terra di Confine), is a gathering of historical groups inspired by the early 17th century with over 380 re-enactors from all over Europe who meet in the fortress town to revive its centuries-old history.

The military camp inside the walls is an accurate reconstruction of a Renaissance camp and is animated by battles and military patrols typical of the period, thanks to the figures of the participating historical groups.

The main events of the re-enactment are the guided tour of the fortress (morning) and the battle in the open field (afternoon).

Furthermore, throughout the weekend it is possible to taste typical local products at the Hostaria and at the food stands inside the fortress.

And the name Heliopolis?
The name Eliopoli is inspired by ‘Heliopoli’, the original name of Terra del Sole, founded by Cosimo I De Medici on December 8th, 1564, to defend the borders of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
