1st opening of the Serio Falls – Valbondione

16 June 2024. The 1st opening of the Serio Falls, the tallest waterfall in Italy.

On Sunday June 16th 2024,  it is scheduled the 1st seasonal opening of the Serio Falls from 11:00 to 11:30 am

The opening of Serio Falls is scheduled 5 times a year, in June, July, August, September, October,

The show attracts thousands of people every year, climbing from Valbondione, in the Province of Bergamo, and walking about 1-hour to the Serio Falls, the tallest in Italy and the second tallest in Europe. In July, the opening is scheduled by night, with a fascinating lighting of the falls.

In 30 minutes, the falls (10,000 cubic metres of water) have a triple drop of 315 meters; the three main steps are, respectively, 166, 74 and 75 metres tall.

16th-century scientist and writer Giovanni Maironi da Ponte called the Serio Falls “a place that could cure all life disappointments”.
