GENGA LIVING NATIVITY SCENE
Genga Living Nativity was taking place twice a year, on December 26 (St. Stephen’s Day/Boxing Day) and January 2nd from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

The association “Amici del Presepe” creates the living nativity in an impressive 30,000-square-meter area in the Frasassi Gorge since 1981. This means that Genga’s is the largest living nativity in the world: about 300 performers re-enact the nativity scene and local traditions every year.

Along the path that leads to the Cave, visitors can meet shepherds, fishermen, peasants and, in Frasassi Sanctuary, local craftsmen: carpenters, blacksmiths, bakers, cobblers, sculptors, potters, embroiderers and tailors. All of them work with their old professional tools.

In over 30 years, Genga Living Nativity has been visited by 380,000 people.
All proceeds go to charity.
