Piemonte – Events
In Piedmont there are many festivals and events related to the regional traditional foods and dishes.
If you want to enjoy this land you can’t miss one of the hundreds Bagna Cauda celebrations and festivals, the queen of the typical Piedmont strong cuisine, or one of Barbera Festivals, the most popular wine of the region.
Not to miss the International Truffle Fair in Alba (from early October to early December), the National Pepper Fair in Carmagnola in September and the Barolo Festival (in September).
One of the most ancient feast is the Palio in Asti, which dates back to the 12th century and attracts thousands of tourists who come to see the Medieval parade in historical costumes and the horse race along the city streets.
Also of Medieval origins the Oranges Battle in Ivrea, that commemorates a popular rebellion against the tyrant. The event takes place at the end of Carnival festivities.
Val Vigezzo, formerly referred to as the Chimney Sweeps Valley since 1548, annually celebrates the Chimney Sweep International Meeting, an event rich in history that offers an entertaining program but also the opportunity to get to know the job of the chimney sweep through testaments and stories.
